BitcoinOS has entered into a strategic partnership with DeltaDeFi, a pioneering team building next-generation, scalable, decentralized trading infrastructure on Cardano.
Together, we’ll unlock new possibilities for trust-minimized, bridgeless Bitcoin-powered DeFi by integrating xBTC, BOS’s cryptographic BOS' programmable and cross-chain BTC variant, into DeltaDeFi’s Hydra-based trading protocol and vault products. At last, secure and scalable DeFi will be available to Bitcoiners on the Cardano blockchain,
The BOS and DeltaDeFi Combination
Despite Bitcoin’s role as the foundation of crypto, its utility across non-custodial DeFi has remained constrained by reliance on wrapped assets and centralized bridges. Our collaboration with DeltaDeFi directly addresses this challenge by combining:
- xBTC, a fully cryptographic, bridgeless BTC representation designed for composable cross-chain settlement
- DeltaDeFi’s high-performance order book protocol, engineered for efficient, transparent trading and non-custodial custody
- The shared vision of expanding UTxO-based ecosystems that put sovereignty and decentralization first
This partnership will empower users to trade and utilize BTC within DeFi applications without compromising on trust, security, or composability.
UTXBros: Lightning vs Hydra
Hydra is Cardano’s scalability layer, similar in spirit to Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, designed to enable off-chain transaction processing. However, Hydra goes further by leveraging the UTxO model and native smart contract capabilities of Cardano to create highly efficient state channels that can settle thousands of transactions with minimal fees. Through DeltaDeFi, Hydra is used to deliver instant, low-cost trade execution and liquidity management, improving upon Lightning by combining scalability with programmable settlement and advanced DeFi primitives.
Under the partnership, our teams will:
